Amundi Asset Management Names New Chief Executive

Amundi Asset Management, the investment venture created by French banks Crédit Agricole and Societe Generale, has appointed Laurent Guillet as chief executive of its London branch. He will replace Laurent Crosnier, who has held the dual role of CEO and chief investment officer since 2010. The firm said that it had decided to separate the two roles in order to further strengthen the business. Guillet will start his new position on 1 June, subject to regulatory approval. He will oversee business development with UK investors and the promotion of Amundi London's fund management globally, while continuing in his role as chief executive officer of Amundi Alternative Investments. Crosnier will maintain his responsibilities as CEO of the London branch and deputy head of Amundi’s fixed income platform, headed by Eric Brard. Guillet has over 25 years' experience in financial services. He has been CEO of Amundi Alternative Investments since 2011 and before this he was head of equity and fund derivatives sales for Europe and the Middle East in the capital markets division of Crédit Agricole. In other news, earlier this month Amundi launched its first emerging balanced sub-fund, the Amundi Funds Multi Asset Emerging Markets vehicle. Invested mainly in direct securities, this sub-fund of the Luxembourg Sicav Amundi Funds aims to offer investors a global investment solution where they can benefit from the growth potential of emerging economies.
